Bellevue Hospital Center, New York, NY
This educational facility will specialize in all aspects of medical simulation, computer-based training and crisis management, and will engage participants in real world scenarios that will be supported through mock hospital environments incorporating state of the art human stimulators, professionally trained standards patients, computer systems and both medical and audio/visual equipment. The purpose of the construction and development of the 22,000 sq. ft. simulation facility is to train nurses, doctors and first responder for medical emergencies. VVA’s services include, Budgeting, Scheduling, Consultant RFP and Selection, Design Management, Contract Negotiation, CON (“Certification of Needs”) applications, Pre-purchase Management, Constructability Review, Medical Equipment and Furniture Procurement, Value Engineering, Construction Administration, Move-In, and DOH Inspection.
Dr. Weintraub Offices, New York, NY
VVA provided Project Management services for the renovation and complete upgrade of a 1,700 sq. ft. doctor’s suite. VVA stepped in to manage the project, which was underway but heavily delayed, and coordinated all of the owner-furnished items, including furniture, lighting, and telephones. The newly renovated suite consists of 3 doctors’ offices, several exam rooms, a waiting and administration area, and storage. VVA’s services included, but were not limited to: overseeing the NYC DOB requirements, including managing an expeditor, managing Construction Administration services of the Architect and Engineer, bidding the general construction, level and award of General Contractor, Construction Administration, Cost Control and Reporting, interfacing with landlord, and close out.
Lutheran Family Health Centers, Brooklyn, NY
Lutheran is undertaking the build out of a 9,000 sq. ft. outpatient clinic which will include 14 general exam rooms, several dental exam rooms, a physical therapy gym, waiting rooms, and support areas. The project scope includes a complete interior build out and ties into the existing base building mechanical systems. VVA’s services include, Budgeting, Scheduling, Consultant RFP and Selection, Design Management, Contract Negotiation, CON (“Certification of Needs”) applications, Constructability Review, Medical Equipment and Furniture Procurement, Value Engineering, Construction Administration, Move-In, and DOH Inspection.
NYU Langone Medical Center, New York, NY
Tisch ICU was completely renovated and doubled its footprint to 25,000 sq. ft. Each single patient room was upgraded with head walls, bedpan hoppers, integrated patient lifts, and a CCTV patient monitoring system. Individual nurse stations built for every two patient rooms assisted in further improving the quality of patient care. Infrastructure upgrades included HVAC, power, medical gas systems, as well as a tie-in to the new generator.
TISCH 14th Floor’s project scope included new ceilings and lighting, additional emergency power and medical gas systems, floor and wall finishes, millwork, and HVAC upgrades.
Yung Hsia Women’s Center project resulted in a full renovation including expanded nurse stations, staff lounge, patient lounge with small pantry, two 4-bedded step-down units and four single-bedded neonatal rooms with ADA compliant bathrooms.
The Bone Marrow Transplant Unit is the first of this type of unit for NYULMC. A 4,500 sq. ft. 6-bed allogenic Bone Marrow Transplant Unit is being built, which will be inclusive of air that is filtered by HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) and relative pressures will be closely monitored due to the patients’ suppressed immune systems.
The Musculoskeletal Institute is a new 75,000 sq. ft. facility which serves groups such as the Spine Center, Sports Medicine Center, Imaging and Pain Management, Seligman Center for Advanced Therapies, Institute for Physical and Occupational Medicine, Infusion Center and Arthritis and Joint Replacement. Project highlights include 2 MRI’s, x-ray rooms, a pharmacy, an infusion area, and a PT/OT gym.
VVA’s services for the above projects range from, but are not limited to, Due Diligence, Certificate of Needs Submittals, Budgeting, Scheduling, Design Management, Value Engineering, Contract Negotiation, Constructability Review, Construction Administration, Project Reporting, Infection Control risk assessments, DOH Inspections, and Relocation Management.
